Phoenix Office

We are so proud to announce that our Phoenix office, located in the South Rotunda of the Phoenix Financial Center, was recently awarded a Citation of Merit as a part of the 2016 Docomomo US Modernism in America Awards.

Post-occupancy evaluation of Shepley office published

shepley_office_inside_shepleyShepley Bulfinch turned its design research lens on itself with the publication of a post-occupancy evaluation of the firm’s office in Boston in the Journal of Interior Design.

The evaluation, which was conducted a year after the firm occupied its new space in January 2006, indicated that the design significantly increased staff satisfaction and met the project’s primary design intentions. Interviews were conducted with the project’s design team and staff members.

Shepley featured in new book on innovative office environments

Shepley Bulfinch’s open and collaborative Boston office and design studio wins kudos in the newly published book, Innovations in Office Design: The Critical Influence Approach to Effective Work Environments, by Diane Stegmeier (John Wiley & Sons, Inc).

The firm’s Seaport District office is cited as an exemplar of workplace design, inspiring collaboration, information exchange, and the generation of new ideas. Bryan Jones joins Houston office as director

Bryan D. Jones, AIAShepley Bulfinch is pleased to welcome healthcare planning and design leader Bryan D. Jones, AIA, LEED AP, as a director in the firm’s Houston office, where he will lead its regional healthcare practice.

Shepley Bulfinch office moving up to landmark Phoenix Financial Center

Phoenix Financial CenterShepley Bulfinch is growing its way to a new home this summer when we move into the south Rotunda at the landmark Phoenix Financial Center at North Central and Osborn.

For the past five years, the Phoenix architecture office has called The Link, its studio at 1st and McDowell, home. When we started to outgrow the space last year, we knew we were looking for something more than square footage. With its distinctive inverted concrete arches and domed roof, the south Rotunda could not have been a better fit.

Shepley office celebrated as model of flexibility, mobility

The flexibility and openness of Shepley Bulfinch’s LEED-certified Boston office was heralded in a front-page article in today’s Banker and Tradesman.

The feature, by columnist and Boston Architectural College professor Jeff Stein, applauded the mobility and horizontal organization of the office, which is designed to foster a collaborative environment and reconfiguration of staff as project demands require. The office, located in Boston’s Seaport District near the World Trade Center, was awarded LEED-CI Silver certification earlier this year.

The office will be on show next May, when Boston hosts the National Convention of the American Institute of Architects. Shepley Bulfinch is a convention sponsor.

In a ceremony yesterday, Shepley Bulfinch was presented with a LEED-CI Silver certification plaque for its corporate interior by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). Barbra Batshalom LEED AP, executive director of the Green Roundtable, a USGBC affiliate, made the presentation to Principal Thomas D. Kearns AIA LEED AP, chairman of Shepley Bulfinch’s board of directors.

Among those acknowledged at the ceremony were project team and building committee members and our consultants including Turner Construction, R.G. Vanderweil, Robert Luchetti Associates, Lam Partners, Creative Office Pavilion, and Roll-Barresi.
