Shepley Bulfinch’s expansion project for Children’s Hospital Boston was named one of 12 winners of Modern Healthcare’s Award of Excellence in its 21st Annual Design Awards. The 240,000 s.f. project laterally expanded the functions of the hospital’s main building, which the firm designed in 1985, to contiguous space in the new building.

BOSTON, MA — Yale-New Haven Hospital has received approval from the City of New Haven to proceed with the construction of its new, Comprehensive Cancer Center, designed by Shepley Bulfinch.
The 14-story, $430 million Yale-New Haven Cancer Center will reinforce Yale-New Haven Hospital’s reputation as a top-ranking cancer center and provide the region with a state-of-the-art diagnostic, treatment and research facility. The Center will include 112 private rooms, 12 operating rooms, radiology services, a women’s cancer center, and complementary medicine—providing a truly integrated and seamless patient experience. In a survey released today, Modern Healthcare ranked Shepley Bulfinch 43rd among the top healthcare architecture firms in the country in the magazine’s 2014 Construction and Design Survey.
