Anne Garrity named in 20 Making a Difference in Healthcare Design

Senior healthcare interior designer Anne Garrity was named one of “Twenty Making a Difference” in the December issue of Healthcare Design magazine.

This is Healthcare Design’s second annual feature, which provides peer recognition for those who are advancing the design of healthcare facilities.

Anne brings a unique understanding of the importance of creating healthcare interiors that break down institutional imagery. Her most recent work includes the new Cardiovascular Center at the University of Michigan. A podcast is being developed to narrate the hospital’s art collection for visitors and patients.

Elise Woodward receives 2007 Women in Design Award

Boston, MA – Elise Woodward, AIA LEED AP, was honored at Build Boston today, where she received the Award of Excellence at the eighth annual Women in Design conference.

The second woman architect at Shepley Bulfinch when she joined in 1981 and the third to be named a principal, Elise is a designer, mentor, and convener. As a leader of the firm, she served for six years on its five-member board of directors, four as board chair. Joe Rondinelli named to Contract magazine advisory board

Joe Rondinelli, Senior Associate at Shepley Bulfinch, has been named to the Editorial Advisory Board of Contract magazine. Board responsibilities include participation in the annual Design Forum and a roundtable discussion at NeoCon, as well as advice and input on the magazine’s editorial content. Joe has had a long relationship with the editorial staff at Contract through his participation in judging the “Best of NeoCon ” and for his article contributions over the years to the magazine.

Megan Johnson named Shepley Summer Design Fellow

Megan Noel Johnson of North Carolina State University, a 2007 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the College of Design’s Professional Architecture program, has joined Shepley Bulfinch as the firm’s 10th Annual Summer Design Fellow. Megan was selected for the ten-week Fellowship from a pool of applicants drawn from the nation’s top architectural schools.

To give her the richest and most diverse experience at here, she will work with a series of different teams on of current design projects during her Fellowship. Wagdy Anis named Fellow, American Institute of Architects

BOSTON, MA – Shepley Bulfinch Principal Wagdy A.Y. Anis FAIA, LEED AP, has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) prestigious College of Fellows, one of 76 AIA members nationwide to receive the honor.

He will receive his Fellowship medal during the Investiture of Fellows Ceremony at the AIA 2007 National Convention in San Antonio. The investiture will be held on May 4 at the Alamo.
