Garry was a leader of the firm and our healthcare practice. In a career spanning more than 45 years his major interest was in team management and long-range planning. Garry was known for his long-standing client relationships and his self-proclaimed passion for the “orchestration of the team.”
Garry was a leader, mentor, and a master of bringing people together to successfully execute a shared goal on some of Shepley Bulfinch’s most notable contemporary healthcare projects, including new campuses for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital. His clients also included Yale-New Haven Hospital; the University of Rochester Medical Center; Massachusetts General Hospital; New England (now Tufts) Medical Center; and Mid Coast Health Services (Brunswick, Maine).
After practicing with other Boston-area architecture firms and managing his own business, Garry joined Shepley Bulfinch in 1986 and became Principal just five years later. He retired from the firm in 2010.
