Designing for the developing world

19 November 2015

ABX 2015, Boston, MA

Gerard Georges, Shepley Bulfinch
Michael Kyes, SMMA
Miriam Tuchman, Sustainable Health for Haiti

ABX 2015This workshop brings together a trio of architects and design professionals whose work spans humanitarian projects in the developing world from Nepal and sub-Saharan Africa to Haiti.

In this session, moderated by Cahal Stevens, Gerard, Michael, and Miriam discuss the successes, rewards, frustrations and challenges of working in an environment where many of the assumptions that underpin the daily working of the profession in the US are largely absent. Architects and allied professionals who have experience in the developing world are encouraged to attend and contribute, as are those who have an interest in doing such work.
