LEED and indoor air quality

23 March 2011

Maine Indoor Air Quality Council, Portland, ME

Greta Eckhardt, AIA, LEED AP

With LEED, The US Green Building Council (USGBC) provides the design and construction industry with a powerful tool to address a range of environmental issues, including indoor air quality (IAQ). These provisions are likely to reduce the number of airborne contaminants in a completed building, but do not guarantee the absence of all construction-related compounds that may trigger concern.

In this workshop, Greta Eckhardt reviews information illustrating the successes and limitations of LEED in achieving healthful indoor environments, and will discuss strategies for addressing the gaps.

Greta is also a panelist the following day for a discussion on building for the hypersensitive.
