Praise for Smilow Cancer Hospital

Tuesday, 8 December 2009

Sunday’s New Haven Register carried a glowing review of the recently completed Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Applauding the designers of the complex 14-story project, reporter Ann DeMatteo called out a number of features for particular note, including the 30-foot granite water wall in the building’s lobby, as well as the seventh-floor healing garden and the extensive use of natural light.

Smilow, which saw its first patients in late October, is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2010. The hospital is targeting a minimum of LEED certification for its sustainable design features.
